## Coverage

## Scoring Methodology

Scores are generated by GPT-4o-mini using region-specific viticultural knowledge, calibrated by vintage age:
- Very young (1–3 years): confidence capped at 45–65 (still evolving)
- Developing (4–7 years): confidence 70–88
- Mature (8–15 years): confidence 85–95
- Historic (16+ years): confidence 70–85 (less current trade data)

Scores reflect the vintage's overall character and quality for that region, not individual producer or wine scores.
